Should You Buy A Cat Water Fountain For Your Pet?

My son's cat always has fresh water available - but is this enough?

I always thought that just making sure my cat had fresh water in her bowl was adequate but then I started doing some research and wrote an article on hubpages based on what I found out.

It seems that both cats and dogs prefer drinking running water - which could explain why my cat will try to drink out of the faucet if she gets a chance!

It also seems that if you feed your cat on dry food like I do, just providing fresh drinking water in a bowl may not be enough - you have to actively encourage them to take in more fluid to ensure that their kidneys function properly and that they don't get UTIs.

My research led me to study different types of cat fountain and to read many reviews. It is evident that as with everything else in life, some products are much better than others although they seem to perform the same function.

So, if you would like to read the results of my research and read the cat water fountain reviews of the products I found that seemed to be way ahead (and the reasons why), please visit my Hubpages article by using the link I provided.

Find out More About DAP to Soothe and Calm Your Dog

I have two articles to share with you today. They are both on the subject of DAP products. DAP is an acronym for the full name, which is Dog Appeasement Pheromone. The image above shows the range and is supplied, courtesy of Ceva, the manufacturers of Adaptil products.

I have a dog who came to us from an Animal Rescue charity. he was, and still is to an extent very nervous. This is especially noticeable when his normal daily routine is disrupted for any reason. Loud noises or visitors will send him rushing to hide under the bed and often bring on a tummy upset too.

I was very glad to learn about DAP and wrote this article on hubpages

You might find it helpful if you have a dog who suffers from anxiety or, whose fears cause him to exhibit unwanted, destructive, or even threatening behaviour.

If you have had to have a dog treated for heartworm infection and are worrying about how you are going to keep him quiet and calm after the treatment - which is an important requirement, there is a helpful article on aftercare on the website www.heartwormtreatment-fordogs.com which also includes information on the beneficial use of DAP diffusers for dogs who have to be crated (caged) during recuperation.

DAP Products, Could They Help Soothe And Comfort Your Dog?

Here is a link to an interesting article on DAP products. Apparently DAP is a natural pheromone which nursing mothers secrete in their milk when feeding their puppies. DAP is an acronym for Dog appeasing pheromone.
Manufacturers CEVA have a range of products under the trade mark Adaptil, which contain a synthetic version of this hormone. You can read more about it in this article
DAP Diffuser Collar Or Spray After Heart Worm Treatment
which, although mostly about how these products could help a dog in those first few weeks after treatment with Immiticide when it is really important that he does not get excited or raise his heart rate (which can also happen through stress and anxiety), is very helpful and relevant if you have a dog that gets distressed due to loud noises for example, or on car journeys.
I hope you find it helpful.
