Should You Buy A Cat Water Fountain For Your Pet?

My son's cat always has fresh water available - but is this enough?

I always thought that just making sure my cat had fresh water in her bowl was adequate but then I started doing some research and wrote an article on hubpages based on what I found out.

It seems that both cats and dogs prefer drinking running water - which could explain why my cat will try to drink out of the faucet if she gets a chance!

It also seems that if you feed your cat on dry food like I do, just providing fresh drinking water in a bowl may not be enough - you have to actively encourage them to take in more fluid to ensure that their kidneys function properly and that they don't get UTIs.

My research led me to study different types of cat fountain and to read many reviews. It is evident that as with everything else in life, some products are much better than others although they seem to perform the same function.
